Jack Corrao
Jack Corrao has held numerous Sales, Operations, and C-level Executive Management positions in the technology and data storage industries over the past 28 years with public and private firms such as Burroughs, Scientific Computer Systems (an early Super Computer manufacturer), Artecon/Dot Hill Systems, and ANDATACO/Nstor, where Mr. Corrao was also responsible for key management of OEM sales relationships with Data General, Micron Electronics, Hewlett Packard, VA Linux and many others. In January 2000, Mr. Corrao joined start-up BakBone Software as President and COO, where he successfully oversaw the corporate acquisition and integration of two separate software development organizations as well as building the core executive team and staff, formulation and execution of worldwide sales and marketing strategies, and managing day-to-day operations. In 2002, he founded Corrao Enterprises to bring a team of skilled Sales, Marketing, and Operations experts to the technology industry, leveraging his broad experience working with companies requiring additional focus on product definition and strategies related to sales and marketing while streamlining operations. His clients included Seagate Technology/Certance, PivotStor, SealShield, and numerous other technology organizations.
The formation of Corrao Group is an outgrowth of his experience with Corrao Enterprises, with the recognition of the Business Lifecycle Management (BLM) with Variable Cost model as crucial to the future success of startup and small to midsize technology companies. Gathering together an unexcelled team of trusted experts in a variety of business disciplines, the Corrao Group's BLM method provides a means for organizations to add specialized knowledge, skill sets, and resources on an "as-needed" basis, significantly reducing overhead and time-to-results for startup firms and new business initiatives for mature organizations.

Frank Asaro, Finance
Frank Asaro is a senior financial executive with broad International and U.S.-based experience in corporate banking, finance, strategic planning, and general operational management, with proven leadership in developing, implementing and managing financial systems and business operations in fast growth organizations. Asaro served as a Vice President with Union Bank of California's Corporate Banking Division for more than 13 years, prior to entering the High-Tech and Nutraceuticals markets. As a founder and Chief Financial Officer of BakBone Software, he co-authored the company's TSE/OSC prospectus filing, resulting in the company's successful IPO and two subsequent rounds of equity financing. Mr. Asaro has also held numerous executive financial management positions in both public and private firms, serving as CFO at Client Shop, Inc., CFO of Pharma Nutra Technologies, Inc., COO of Investor Finance, Inc, CFO of PivotStor, Consultant to La Jolla Cove Investors, CFO of MojoPages, and CFO of Leads99. In addition, Frank has conducted numerous financial transactions in Mergers & Acquisitions, debt structure & issuance, as well as multiple equity rounds of financing. Mr. Asaro holds a bachelors degree in Business Administration with an emphasis on Finance from San Diego State University, and a master's degree from the University of Washington's PCBS Executive Management Program, where he graduated with honors. Frank has been a member of the Corrao Group team since June of 2006.
Ernie Maldonado, Salesforce
Ernie Maldonado has over 15 years experience in the high tech industry, holding management positions serving sales territories throughout the western hemisphere. Ernie has worked for some of the top companies in their field, including Activision, Seagate, and numerous others. Most recently, Ernie has been the principal of Alagado LLC, an independent business consultancy firm helping companies of all sizes and in all industries implement and incorporate into their daily processes cloud computing tools and applications such as salesforce.com and Google.
Barry Mattingly, Marketing
Barry Mattingly has more than 30 years of direct hands-on experience in the data storage industry. He was a founder of and Vice President of Marketing for BakBone Software, a leading developer of data protection software (backup/restore, replication, and storage management) for the SMB and Enterprise level markets. Prior to BakBone, he served in various VP and Director level executive positions in OEM Sales, Business Development, and Marketing with IBM/Mylex, CMD Technology/Silicon Systems, TapeLabs, Tecmar/TTi, as well as technical marketing and engineering positions with Kennedy Peripherals and Genisco Memory Systems. His most recent responsibilities involved developing and overseeing technical and sales partnerships with leading technology and storage industry luminaries including NetApp, Sun/StorageTek, Seagate/Certance, Adaptec, HP, NCR/Teradata, and many others. He has also authored more than 20 articles and white papers appearing in leading storage industry publications and newsletters.
Doug Spencer, Technology
Doug brings over 25 years of technology industry experience to the Corrao Group team, with numerous successful corporate turnarounds and startups. He's invented and brought to market several enterprise products and has experience with SaaS, shrink-wrapped software, CDNs, Internet appliances and embedded systems development. He’s established several offshore operations for Fortune 500 and smaller clients, achieving massive cost savings and improving time to market. As an international business development executive, he’s taught strategic enterprise sales techniques and best business practices to executives in several developing economies. As Vice President of Development at BakBone Software, Doug introduced offshore engineering and quality assurance teams in India, Vietnam and Russia, resulting in dramatically improved product quality and customer satisfaction. These improvements led to winning the 2006 Diogenes Labs & Storage Magazine Quality Award and being named Sun Partner of the Year in 2006. He’s led organizations with direct reports in as many as 6 countries. Prior to BakBone, he was the founder of an international technology operations & consulting firm. Doug holds a Bachelors degree in Computer Science and a Masters in Business Administration from the Manderson School of Business at the University of Alabama.
